On monday the 29th of september, the ANOPA swimming refresher course 2014 started with a beautiful opening ceremony supported by a cultural display of AFODAT and speakers like Mr. Kweku Abedu Wilson (Board Chairman, PIC), Ernest Appiah (ANOPA Project coordinator) and the german ANOPA Project coordinator Christoph Knipprath.
Afterwards the 11 participants, which have already been part of our previous clinics, got an introduction to the structure of the 10days refresher course and had their first theoretical as well as their first practical lesson of the clinic.
During the 10 day clinic the participants were able to refresh their knowledge on the basics of swimming and also to improve on their swimming techniques in breaststroke and freestyle. The Clinic ended on October 2nd with a closing competition, where the swimmers were able to present their much improved skills.
It is another big step for ANOPA Project to educate people on swimming and hopefully develop future swimming coaches.
Congratulations to all the participants and thanks for all the support from the whole ANOPA Project Staff. Full gallery here
