A forum on the role of young people in the upcoming 13th African Games organized by the United Nation's Global Programme on Security of Major Sporting Events, and Promotion of Sports and its Values as a Tool to Prevent Violent Extremism, led by the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism(UNOCT), and its partners has been held in Accra on Wednesday, 21 November, 2023 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.
In the absence of the Executive Director of ANOPA Project, Mr., Ernest Appiah, the forum was attended by the Project Coordinator Ms. Elsina Akweley Annang and the International Funding Officer for ANOPA, Ms. Katie Bohnhof .
His Excellency, Mr. Mustapha Ussif, Honorable Minister of Youth and Sport, Republic of Ghana was the Guest of Honor at the event.
Other notable personalities at the forum were Mr. Bram Van Haver, Programme Manager, United Nations Alliance of Civilizations(UNAOC), Mr. Valerio De Divitiis, Programme Coordinator, UN Office of Counter-Terrorism(UNOCT) among other dignitaries.
ANOPA Project is committed to using sport as a tool to enhance peace as part of the UN agenda and also drive inclusion for differently-abled children in Africa.
