ANOPA Project attends comprehensive workshop on Innovative Sports for the Blind by Visio.

As a Sport for Development NGO in Ghana, ANOPA Project was invited by Visio International to its maiden Innovative Sports Workshop for the Blind held in Cape Coast

from the 2nd to the 6th of April,2023. In attendance were other representatives from the Special Education Division of the Ministry of Education-Ghana, Special Schools across Ghana, NGOs among others.

Facilitators of the workshop from the Netherlands took participants through the rudiments of engaging the blind in special sports and games including the various safety measures to adhere to. Participants were introduced to how to make improvised cones with plastic bottles and other improvised items including blindfolds, illuminating tyres, shot put, measuring tapes among others.

The workshop was highly educative, inclusive and extremely successful and came at the right time to augment sports education and engineer a positive change in the blind sector with regards to sports.

ANOPA Project has learned a lot and will put every skill acquired to good use in our Blind engagement programmes and projects aimed at promoting inclusion and integration in the Country.

We are extremely grateful to Visio International and the Country Director of Visio Mr. Jeremiah Badusayer for bringing such an innovative intervention to us.
