ANOPA attends UNITED NATIONS first Training Workshop on UN Toolkit for Sport, Development and Peace

A comprehensive workshop organised by the UN on its Toolkit for Sport, Development and Peace(SDP) was held on the 13th and 14th of June, 2023 at the University of Ghana, Legon in Accra. The toolkit was validated in Zimbabwe in November, 2022 after a series of preparatory workshops held in Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Uganda.

However, Ghana was chosen as the first country to benefit from the training. ANOPA PROJECT feels honored to be part of this all important training workshop amongst the few Sport for Development NGOs in Ghana.

In the absence of the Executive Director of ANOPA PROJECT, Mr. Ernest Appiah, the project was represented by Ms. Elsina Akweley Annang, the Project Coordinator and Rachael Dede Lathbridge Officer in Charge of Programmes.

Official representatives from the UN present at the workshop were Robert Venne and Olen Serezhin. Other reps from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Sports, Ghana Education Service, Ghana Sports Authority, University of Ghana and Ghana Athletics were also present.

ANOPA PROJECT is ever ready to thrive on the knowledge acquired during the workshop and continually use Sports base learning and its other modules to help drive inclusion, integration, peace and development in Ghana.
